LGBT+ COMMUNITY CENTER
The LGBTQ+ Community Centre is a place where everyone is welcome to spend their free time, no matter their age, romantic and sexual orientation, or their identity. You can find us in the very heart of Prague, near the Old Town Square, at Železná 18. We are open every Thursday from 3 PM until 9 PM, but our weekly program’s events take place throughout the entire week. Said program can be found below.
LECTURE HALL
Warm and welcoming, this multifunctional space can fit up to 40 people at once on occasions of debates, screenings, workshops, and others. There is a projector and a screen or a flipchart available, together with refreshments at our bar.
HANGOUT ROOM
As the name suggest, this place is perfect for you to relax. There’s a jukebox, a make-up corner, a decent collection of boardgames, a queer library, a TV, oh-so-comfortable fatboy beanbags and a kids’ corner.
HOW TO GET HERE?
The address of the community centre is Železná 492/18, Prague 1. There are two rainbow flags above the entrance and the LGBTQ+ Community Center (LGBTQ+ Komunitní centrum) logo signage on the gate. Walk through the unlocked gate and climb the stairs to the first floor. There you will find another labelled door, where we would kindly ask you to ring the (also labelled) doorbell so we can welcome you in!
WE HAVE A CALENDAR! BUY IT AND SUPPORT THE CENTER
We have a new charity calendar with photos of the ambasadors of the LGBT+ Community Center. Buy buying it you support the activities we do for the LGBT+ pople in Prahgue and the Czech Republic.
COUNSELLING IN LGBT+ COMMUNITY CENTER
We offer free and anonymous counseling for LGBT+ people and their close ones. We can help you with topics and question on LGBT+ life, for example coming out, gender identity and expression, health, relationships, sex ets.
PROGRAMME AND EVENTS
There are all kind of events taking place every month, some one-off and some regular. Our door is open to everyone, whether they speak Czech or not, so we are more than happy to communicate with you in English – both in person and electronically.
The program of the community center will be regularly translated and available in English as well. Just be patient with us, as it might take a while after publishing the Czech version.
As we are a Czech institution the majority of our events are in Czech. However, we also have events in english. And the Open Thursdays are usually a multi-language experience. We do our best to mark the language but some errors may occur.

OUR PARTNERS
The project is being supported by the Committee of Good Will - the Olga Havel Foundation from the Active Citizens Fund. The programme promotes citizens’ active participation in the public life and decision making and builds capacities of civil society organizations. It promotes respect of human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law and the respect for human rights including the rights of persons belonging to minorities. Active Citizens Fund came to the Czech Republic in September 2019 with the goal to support CSOs regardless of their size and experience. It is operated by the Open Society Fund Prague, Committee of Good Will - the Olga Havel Foundation and Scout Institute. The Active Citizens Fund is financed from EEA and Norway Grants 2014–2021. With EEA Grants, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway contribute towards a reduction in economic and social disparity and the strengthening of mutual cooperation in Europe. One of the important objectives of the programme is strengthening bilateral cooperation between donor and beneficiary states through financial contributions in specified priority sectors. It supports bilateral relations between the donor states Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein and the Czech Republic.
