In Western countries, many big cities have their Rainbow Houses – community centers functioning as hubs for LGBT+ people: youth, seniors, various groups and associations. Prague does not have such a center so far, and we believe it is deeply missed.

We want to open in Prague a community center where everyone can be themselves. We would gladly set up a place where LGBT+ can gather and engage, find friends and support, celebrate the openness and diversity of the society. The Rainbow house should become the heart and the home of our community in Prague.

The community center is somehow in the making – we open our own offices in the evenings to other associations and groups to meet, but unfortunately the size of the rooms is limiting. We ourselves remember very well the times when Prague Pride did not have any space at all, and we had to meet in bars. In such places it was hard to hold a meeting, leave alone a seminar or a support group gathering.

We are currently seeking appropriate spaces to set up our community center. In that building we would also include offices for the ever-growing Prague Pride association. We are ready to rebuild the property at our own expenses.
