Vměstě
12 července | 14:00 – 16:00
Vměstě is a Russian-speaking group that is dedicated mainly to queer migrants and refugees in the Czech Republic.
We organize meetings to connect Russian-speaking LGBT+ people in Czechia for mutual psychological support. We also organise Speaking Club meetings to ease integration, book exchange, board games and other fun free-time activities to build the community and ensure better mental well-being.
Delve into the intersections of language, power, and identity in this thought-provoking lecture on „Language in Propaganda and Gender Manifestation.“ Explore how language is used to shape narratives, reinforce ideologies, and influence perceptions of gender within both historical and contemporary contexts.
This event invites participants to critically analyze the role of propaganda in perpetuating gender norms and examine how language can serve as a tool for both oppression and resistance.
Presented in Russian, the lecture is open to anyone interested in linguistics, gender studies, and the dynamics of sociopolitical communication. Join us for an engaging discussion and a deeper understanding of how language shapes our world.
Vměstě present a lecture „Feminist philosophy against war“ by Ekaterina Shashlova, a PhD student at Charles University „
On March 8, International Women’s Day, we will discuss feminist philosophy and concepts of feminism against war and watch Margarita Rybina’s documentary „Et Dieu… créa la Femme en résistance“ („And God… created a rebellious Woman“).
Recommended reading (optional): Chapter „Introduction to Feminist Solutions to Ending War“ or any other chapter from the collection „Feminist Solutions to Ending War“ edited by Megan Mackenzie and Nicole Wegner (the e-book is distributed free of charge).
